Each person was expected to find their own niche in the school, but the coworkers were incredibly friendly and supportive. My biggest challenge was trying to figure out what my niche was. It also recently added turf to its playing fields, and it is working to rebuild its three gyms. The school opened in 1976, and its mascot is the Patriot.
Parkway South Elementary School
Parkway South Elementary School is a publicly funded elementary school located on Hanna Road in Manchester, Missouri. The school serves students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. It follows the policies of the Missouri state public education system. This school is part of the Parkway School District, which serves St. Louis County.
The school district was in touch with parents and police after the tragedy at the Connecticut school. Superintendent Keith Marty addressed the situation in a letter sent to parents and posted on the school’s website. The superintendent also met with members of the St. Louis County Police and is a regular presence on the school’s grounds.
The incident happened after school hours and as parents picked up their elementary school children, they were told to leave the building. Police were on the scene and escorted the parents to their cars. Another hundred people were still in the building, participating in extracurricular activities. The principal of the school and other school administrators were present during the lockout.
